I would like to take the time to thank you all for your kindness and great effort in taking care of my mother over the last five years. Before you began looking after my mother, I had struggled to balance working full time and taking care of my mother at the same time. Thanks to the girls at Gofal Bro, I knew my mother was well taken care of to a high standard, as well as being respected as not to lose too much of her dignity, and I was able to go out to work to pay the bills. There have been plenty of ups and downs in caring for her due to her dementia, and she could sometimes become quite violent, but the girls at Gofal Bro always handled any situation to a very high standard. Everyone at Gofal Bro walked through the front door with a big smile and were always very polite. I cannot thank you enough for all your time, effort, and hard work. I would have been truly lost without you all.

I write on behalf of my mother’s immediate family to express our personal thanks for the first class and dignified care that my mother has received from Gofal Bro over the past two and a half years. When my mother broke her wrist in 2014 and wasn’t able to cope at home on her own, I was particularly impressed by the efficiency shown by the social services department of Cyngor Gwynedd and the flexibility shown by Gofal Bro in providing temporary care services at ‘a drop of a hat’. This temporary care plan gradually developed into a full service as my mother’s physical health deteriorated. From the outset, you and your team of dedicated carers have made my mother feel safe and secure in her own home and provided the essential support required to ensure she can live ‘independently’ in her own home. A recent example of Gofal Bro’s excellent care was when my mother did not even have the strength to move from her chair to her bed in the next room. Your staff member called for support and telephoned me to inform me of the situation. Eleri reassured me at 11pm at night that my mother was safely tucked up in bed and that I need not worry. I telephoned you at around 10 am the next morning to enquire about exactly what happened, and you told me that you had rearranged the carers schedule so that they called at 7:30am (two hours before the normal time) to check on her wellbeing. Furthermore, a carer was to call in around 10:30am to check on her again. You also reassured me that everything was under control (including medics to check on her etc.) I have to say that the standard of care, your personal leadership, kindness shown and pro-active thinking by Gofal Bro is second to none. Over the years, I have dealt with many large and small companies in my business and have always found that small to medium sized companies like yours, based locally, always give the superior service. Additionally, I would say that it is crucial in an area like Gwynedd that staff is able to converse with your clients through the medium of Welsh. I certainly know that this is true in my mother’s case. Before I conclude I feel that it would be amiss of me not to mention my mother’s main carer. I know that you already know how caring and kind she is, but she is someone very special in my mother’s life. I speak to my mother on a daily basis and when she has been, I can tell by her ‘up beat’ mood! I honestly don’t know how to thank her enough. I could not ask for a more professional care company than Gofal Bro and I wish you and your business every success. You deserve it.

I felt I must write to thank you and your team for the service and help you all gave me during Cassie’s protracted illness. It is impossible to put into words that their visits meant to both of us during a very difficult time. I know that Cassie looked forward to their visits as much as I did and although she sometimes gave them some stick their unfailing kindness and care will remain with me for a long time to come. You have a magnificent team of girls of which, I am sure, you are very proud.

Whilst writing I would just like to say a few words about the carers. They are all lovely and caring people and a credit to your company. We feel lucky to have them looking after mum and dad. Shirley is great and probably saved my dad’s life by calling an ambulance. The PE meant his heart and organs were under extreme stress. Without catching it when we did, he may not have survived. I thanked her myself, but I thought I would let you know too.

To Margaret and a group of wonderful women at Gofal Bro. Hospice at Home Unless one has had the experience it is difficult to imagine caring for someone you love at home until the end of their life. This is my experience. I want to put on record that the help I had during this time from the Gofal Bro carers has been outstanding. Their visits three times a day sustained me at the times when there was no family around, and I had 100% confidence that they would do everything necessary to keep my husband’s body comfortable. More than just that they joked and laughed with him, and he was able to joke in return. They have many patients in a day but when they had finished their duties, they took a few moments just to talk or hold his hand and it was as if he was their only patient. They also had a moment or two to check if I was okay. Carers, you do care and do a very special job. I cannot thank you enough from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget you. Margaret, there was no hitch in the organization, never more than a minute or two late and it was so good that we were able to have the same few carers most days. Your recruitment and training is admirable.

I am writing to express my gratitude for the excellent care that you and your staff have provided for my mother over recent months. The carers have been attending on four occasions per day five days per week without fail to check on her wellbeing and assisting her to get up every morning, wash, dress and make breakfast returning on another three visits to provide lunch, tea and to settle her in bed at night ensuring that she is comfortable safe and well. Their demeanor is always courteous and friendly portraying a caring attitude which has positive effect on my mother’s wellbeing, and I believe it is only the provision of the essential service that enables her to remain at home in safe and secure environment.

The Carers of Gofal Bro
They arrive in the morning, and in the evening too,
Polite and empathetic, they have their job to do,
They seem to have a magic way, their task to get completed,
And soon they’re back downstairs again, their client safely seated.
Nothing seems too much trouble, they’re really very kind,
Sometimes they get berated, but they never seem to mind,
They wash or bathe their client, can’t be an easy task,
Give them their medication, they don’t even have to ask.
They get them clothed, with clothes that are just right,
Make sure they’re nice and comfy, or ready for the night,
A ready smile, a friendly touch, it means so much to some,
No wonder they are welcome, whatever time they come.
There is another side, to what the carers do,
It’s caring for the carer, and for that we bless them to,
It really is a blessing, they relieve some of the strain,
It helps recharge the batteries and forget some of the pain.
So carry on you carers, the job you do is grand,
It’s good to know you’re there, a most welcome helping hand,
We cannot show how much you help, nor how we really feel,
So “Thank You” caring carers, our thanks to you are real.
